Becca's Wedding

After Arkansas, we headed down to Georgetown for Becca and Ty's wedding. It was SO FUN to finally see her again, as well as lots of old college friends.

Reunion with my old roommates!

On to Arkansas!

Shortly after we got back from New York we left for Arkansas to visit Gigi and the Kendricks. Here are some pics of all of us at the Old Mill in North Little Rock.

Maya got into this habit of flinging herself backward when anyone was holding her. Here she is performing her trick :)

Love the hat!

The cheeks! The cheeks!

A job well done, Meredith!

Maya can hardly contain the excitement!

Fun in the Big Apple!

We took the Long Island Railroad from Aunt Dale's house into the city a few times. The first day we met Aunt Jan, Pastor Lloyd, David, and Aaron Syvertsen at a diner in Times Square. It was SOOOO great to reconnect with them! They were by far our closest family friends growing up, we spent holidays with them, went apple picking together and up to West Point every year, took trips up to Spofford together...they were like family to us!

After lunch with the Syverstsens we headed over to Central Park with Ash and Dave.

After Central Park we went over to the Museum of Natural History where we spent a good portion of the day.

Ash and MJ seem to be a little bit nervous

Nothing more fun than walking the streets of NYC!

We didn't see Letterman but Ashley and David did!

After a long day of seeing the sights of NYC we were all pretty wiped out. Ash and Dave let us stay in their hotel room with them so that we didn't have to take the train all the way back to Long Island. The four of us squeezed into one bed and little Maya slept peacefully on a palate on the floor. (Sorry, Maya!) The next morning we went to see Saint Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center and that afternoon Uncle Pete and Aunt Dawn took us to see the Statue of Liberty and South Street Seaport.

New York, New York!!!

We took a trip up to New York to see where I grew up and to see my Dad's side of the family. We had such a sweet time visiting with Aunt Dale, her husband Bobby, Ariana, Mark Anthony, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Pete! It had been about 15 years since I had seen them! We also got to go to the church I grew up at and see lots of old family friends, go by our old house, eat real Italian food, and hang with Ashley and David in Manhattan. It was a busy trip!

Look at those eyes!

On our way!

Hangin together at Aunt Dale's house after church

Aunt Dale invited Aunt Dawn and Uncle Pete over for lunch after church on Sunday. This was so special for Ashley and me because we used to get together with them every Sunday at Nana's house for a big lunch.

Then on Monday morning Ashley and I got to see the house where we grew up. It was a crazy feeling to be back there again! We knocked on the side door (where the office used to be) and the girl let us in to take a look. We really wanted to see the inside of our old house but no one answered when we rang the doorbell. Oh well, it was still really great to be able to see the backyard and peek inside the back windows. Driving up and down the Seaford-Oyster Bay Parkway was really strange as well. On Merrick Road we passed lots of familiar old places, the bagel shop we used to go to, All American, the pond across the street. So thankful we had the chance to see it together.

The backyard was connected to a canal.
